A great recruitment notice has been released by State Bank of India in this April for a large number of posts just after your preparation for RRB Non-Technical Exam. SBI has invited applications from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as (i) Junior Associate for Customer Support & Sales and (ii) Junior Agricultural Associates in clerical cadre in State Bank of India.

Under this recruitment project, you can appear for the test only once. The online examination will be held in two phases- Preliminary and Main. As the competition is very high, you must work hard to crack the examination. Tentatively, as said by SBI, the exam will be held in May- June.As the exam pattern has been changed by State bank of India, you should prepare very carefully to face a tough level exam pattern this year.

As mentioned by SBI, the selection process will be consist of three (03) phases

Phase - I : On-line test :
This phase is for preliminary & main examinations (Detailed Syllabus is given bellow)

Phase - II : Test of knowledge of official and/or local language for SBI PO Exam: 
A candidate will not be subjected to any Language test if he/she produces 10th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied official (local) language. In case of others, language test will be conducted at the time of interview . If interview is not held language test will be conducted before final selection. Candidates would be disqualified if not found to be proficient in official and/or local language.

Phase - III : Interview(this is subject to Govt. of India approval): 
Candidates qualified in the main examination will be placed according to their marks in descending order in respective categories. Only certain number of candidates from among those who qualify in the previous two phases by ranking high enough in the merit list will be called for interview (the ratio will be maximum 3 candidates for each vacancy). Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks in interview to get selected for the final selection. SC/ST/ OBC/PWD/XS category will get 5% relaxation.

After declaration of result of online test,call letters for interview will be uploaded on the Bank's website. Candidates will have to download the same from SBI website. SBI will not send any hard copy of interview call letter.

Final Selection: 
For preparation of the final merit list, only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II) will be added to the marks obtained in Interview (Phase-III).The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and. Final selection will be made on the basis of candidate's performance in the main examination and interview (if interview is held).

SBI Clerk Detailed Syllabus for Online Test 

There will be two parts for Online test

  1. Part I - Preliminary Exam for 100 marks 
  2. Part II - Main Exam for 200 marks

The first phase (online test) of Selection Procedure consists of 02 (two) parts of tests in ONLINE mode. Each test will have separate marks and timing as mentioned below. The questions will be of objective tests and except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English &Hindi. You should qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, as decided by the Bank. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. For each wrong answer 1/4th mark will be deducted from your total marks obtained. You should have to pass in each of the objective tests (both part I and part II).

Part - I: Preliminary Examination
Duration: Composite Time of 1 hour 

Total Questions: 100 

Total Marks: 100 

Preliminary Online Exam will be in 03 (Three) sections

  1. English Language - 30 Marks
  2. Numerical Ability - 35 Marks
  3. Reasoning Ability - 35 Marks

As mentioned above, Preliminary Examination will be conducted online consisting of Objective Type Questions for 100 marks. You will be given 60 minutes to answer the questions. There will be 03 Sections in this test as mentioned below:

1. Name of test - English Language
No. of Questions:30

English Language should be studied with a good interest for your preparation as SBI Clerk/PO Exam 2016-17 syllabus gives a special attention in this Subject. If you are good in English, then this section will be an opportunity to score good marks. The Questions from this section includes as described below-

Give a good attention for Numerical Ability Test for the Exam. Because it is the Hardest Section in Online test of SBI Clerk/PO. But, you can score high marks in this section if you do proper practice. I have described this section below on Part II main examination.

3. Name of test = Reasoning Ability
No. of Questions = 35
Marks = 35

This is an interesting test. You should practice hard to score good in this section. Otherwise this section will eat your time. But if you have interest solving problems, you can earn more marks from this section. You should study-

A Candidate have to qualify in each of these three tests by securing passing marks as decided by the Bank. Part – II: Main Examination
Total No. of Questions = 190
Total Marks = 200
Total Duration= 2 Hours 40 minutes

Here is how to prepare for SBI Clerk/PO Main Exam. The Main Test for online Exam is consist of 04 (four ) sections. Syllabus is given below-

  1. General/Financial Awareness - 50 Marks
  2. General English - 50 Marks
  3. Quantitative Aptitude - 50 Marks
  4. Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude - 60 Marks

As mentioned above, there will be 04 (four) sections in this Part of online-test. The structure of main examination (online objective type) would be as follows :

Time given = 35 minutes

You can score good marks in less time in this section. This can be the most easiest for you if you study GK and Current Affairs Books regularly. Don't ignore this section.

The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level. So, decide now how to prepare for SBI Clerk exam on the basis of the above selection procedure and details syllabus for the examination. Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).
